Airsoft Guns
Airsoft guns started out as cheap plastic toys, usually clear, that shot their BB’s at very low velocities. Unfortunately this is still the perception that many people still have, however Airsoft guns are much, much more. In truth, they are “replica firearms,” or scale replicas of their real steel counterparts. In fact they have become so popular that you would be hard pressed to find a real steel firearm that does not have an Airsoft gun counterpart.
Airsoft guns began being produced in Japan in the 1970’s as ownership of firearms is illegal in that country. As such people began turning to highly detailed replicas that could be used for training and practice. It has been growing exponentially ever since, becoming wildly popular especially in Europe and the United States.
