Choosing an Airsoft Electric Rifle
In the last 3 – 5 years Airsoft has finally broken through and has begun to appeal to the world at large. For over a decade now Airsoft has been wildly popular in Japan, Taiwan, and other parts of Asia but has only recently experienced real success in the West, and particularly in the United States. The top Airsoft gun manufacturers in Japan and Taiwan are still leading the industry in the production of fully realistic and customizable weapons, especially in the area of Airsoft Electric Guns or AEG’s.
The Airsoft community at large has had passionate and ongoing debate as to which manufacturers automatic electric guns ate the best. For several years, the Japanese manufacturer Tokyo-Marui was the undisputed king, however, recently companies like ICS and Classic Army have been presenting a significant and very real challenge. If these ‘upstart’ companies keep up the pressure, it may become very difficult to pick “the best of the best” among Airsoft AEG’s.
The market for quality AEGs is so hot that almost every manufacturer makes at least one or two models. There are replicas of nearly every “real steel” weapon in existence, but the biggies are AK-47s, MP5s, M-16s, and of course G36C’s. Now with the opening of Chinese markets new manufacturers are now able to take advantage of reduced labor and can now deliver a very reliable AEG with lots of metal at ever lower prices, which is a very good thing for the Airsoft Community as a whole.
Your first guideline should always be a quality brand with a solid reputation and a manufacturer that backs their products with a warranty. Second, check out blogs and forums to see what “those in the know” are saying about the AEG you are thinking about. You may learn why this is or is not a good AEG to buy. Third, look to see what kind of accessories are upgrades are available for what you are looking at as sooner or later you will want to upgrade or add something to your AEG.
After deciding what your perfect Airsoft Electric Rifle is, it then becomes about where can you get it the cheapest. When pricing your new AEG remember to factor in shipping costs. Paying $15.00 more from a website who’s shipping is $20 less is a good buy!
